Safety Commitment

Your Safety Is Our Highest Priority

At Appalachian Attractions, we believe the best scares happen when every guest feels confident they're visiting a well-planned and professionally operated attraction. While our goal is to create unforgettable thrills, safety remains our number one priority.

Every attraction we operate, including Haunted Holler, is carefully designed, inspected, and monitored to provide a thrilling experience while maintaining the highest level of safety for our guests, actors, and staff.

Our Commitment to Safety

Every scene throughout Haunted Holler is carefully constructed and routinely inspected to help provide a safe environment without sacrificing the immersive experience.

Our actors receive training in First Aid and CPR, allowing them to recognize emergencies and respond appropriately until our medical team arrives if assistance is needed.

From the moment you arrive until you leave our property, our team is committed to making your experience both memorable and safe.

Security

Guest safety begins with maintaining a secure environment.

To help accomplish this, Haunted Holler provides:

  • On-site security personnel

  • Security cameras throughout the attraction

  • A zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and illegal drugs

  • Strong partnerships with local emergency responders

Guests found under the influence of drugs or alcohol or engaging in disruptive behavior will be asked to leave the property immediately without a refund.

If we believe a guest is unable to safely operate a vehicle after leaving our property, local law enforcement may be contacted for everyone's safety.

Medical Services

Your safety is important to us.

Haunted Holler features a dedicated First Aid Station staffed by qualified medical professionals, including:

  • Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

  • Emergency Room Technician / EMT

  • Licensed Paramedic

Should a medical emergency occur, our medical team will respond immediately while coordinating with local emergency services when necessary.

Emergency Preparedness

Our staff is trained to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.

Severe Weather

Weather conditions are monitored daily before opening and throughout the evening.

If severe weather creates unsafe conditions, the attraction will close immediately. All guests, actors, and staff will be escorted to a safe location until conditions improve.

Guests who have not yet entered the attraction—or who are unable to complete their experience due to an early weather closure—will receive a Rain Check to return on another operating night.

Fire Safety

Fire extinguishers are strategically placed throughout all indoor areas.

Every indoor section includes clearly marked emergency exits, allowing guests and staff to evacuate quickly should an emergency arise.

Medical Emergencies

Medical emergencies are treated with the highest level of urgency. Our trained staff and on-site medical team will immediately respond and coordinate with local emergency responders if additional care is required.

Attraction Conditions

Haunted Holler is a mixed indoor and outdoor attraction.

Guests should expect:

  • Uneven terrain

  • Tight passageways

  • Low-light environments

  • Natural walking surfaces

We encourage all guests to wear comfortable footwear and remain aware of their surroundings while enjoying the attraction.

Guest Code of Conduct

To ensure a safe experience for everyone, guests are expected to:

  • Follow all instructions from staff members

  • Treat actors, employees, and other guests with respect

  • Walk at all times—running is prohibited

  • Never touch, strike, or intentionally interfere with actors

  • Refrain from damaging scenery, props, or equipment

  • Leave all weapons, alcohol, and illegal substances off the property

Guests who fail to follow these rules may be removed from the attraction without a refund.

Actor Safety

The safety of our performers is equally important.

All Haunted Holler actors receive safety training before opening day and are given scheduled breaks throughout each operating night.

Zone Leaders are equipped with radios, allowing instant communication with management, security, and medical personnel whenever assistance is needed.

Accessibility

Due to the nature of our attraction, Haunted Holler is not wheelchair accessible.

The combination of uneven terrain, narrow pathways, low lighting, and interactive scare elements creates conditions that are unsafe for wheelchairs and service animals inside the attraction.

Guests are still welcome to visit our property to enjoy concessions, entertainment, and our free outdoor movie, even if they choose not to enter the haunt.

Health Advisory

Haunted Holler contains intense scares, loud noises, flashing lights, fog effects, physical actor interaction, confined spaces, and uneven terrain.

For your safety, we do not recommend the attraction for individuals with:

  • Heart conditions

  • Pregnancy

  • Epilepsy or seizure disorders

  • Severe asthma or respiratory conditions

  • Claustrophobia

  • Mobility limitations

  • PTSD or sensitivity to intense frightening situations

Guests should carefully consider these conditions before entering.

Safety Monitoring

To help ensure the safety of all guests and employees, security cameras are utilized throughout the attraction and surrounding property.

These cameras assist our staff in monitoring operations, responding quickly to emergencies, and maintaining a safe environment.
